
Janita is head of the firm's life science group and her practice spans both corporate and intellectual property transactions.
Janita's industry focus is under pinned by her D.Phil in biochemistry and she maintains a keen interest in the science as
well as the business aspects of the sector.
On the corporate side she is experienced in advising on a wide range of corporate deals including private equity, joint ventures
and M&A work. Her clients range from early stage university spin outs to listed plcs and International corporations. Examples
include Phynova Group plc, Kowa Research Europe, and Procognia. Janita is Osborne Clarke's lead partner on the Imperial Innovations
panel.
Janita's work in the transactional intellectual property field follows the deals typical of the lifesciences sector including,
technology transfer, complex licensing, clinical development and other out-sourcing, strategic partnering, cooperative research
and development and drug supply.
Janita regularly speaks and writes on these topics. She sits on the IP advisory committee of the Bio Industry Association,
is a member of the healthcare committee of the Licensing Executives Society, and is a member of the Chartered Institute of
Patent Agents The Intellectual Property Lawyers Association and is a fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine.
