Clare is referred to in the legal directories as "dedicated and tenacious" and is noted for her "pragmatic approach and expertise in dealing with complex issues".

Clare is an expert in IP and commercial litigation and is committed to maximising strategic opportunities for her clients and achieving the best results for her clients as cost effectively as possible. She acts for clients in the UK and overseas, and has considerable experience of substantial litigation as well as other forms of dispute resolution, such as mediation and commercial arbitration. Her experience includes successfully co-ordinating the largest piece of litigation ever to hit the Bristol courts.

Clare was articled with Joynson Hicks (now Taylor Wessing) in London, then joined Osborne Clarke on qualification in 1987, becoming a partner in the litigation practice group in 1992.
